World Food Safety Day: How We Keep Your Little One's Food Safe From Kitchen to Freezer

Today is World Food Safety Day, and while food safety is always on the mind for us, we thought it was the perfect moment to share a little behind-the-scenes look at what goes into making every bite delicious, nutritious, and safe!

Because when it comes to feeding children, there’s no room for cutting corners. Every spoonful matters—and every step counts. Check out ours:

A Clean Start Every Morning

Our production team starts the day with a super-clean routine:

  • Fresh, professionally laundered uniforms and special kitchen-only shoes.
  • Hairnets on, hands washed thoroughly, and ready to go!

It’s all about making sure we’re starting with a spotless slate—because little tummies deserve big care.

Keeping Things Hot (& Very Cold!)

Bacteria love warm, cosy temperatures—but that’s not what we give them!

  • All meals are cooked to over 75°C, way above the range where bacteria can grow.
  • We then store them at –18°C in our freezers.
  • Even when ingredients arrive, we’re checking and tracking their temperatures to keep them safe every step of the way.

Safety with HACCP

We follow a food safety system called HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point)— which means we look closely at every stage of the process to identify and control potential risks. From the moment ingredients arrive to the moment meals are sealed, we’ve got eyes on it!

No Crossed Wires, No Cross-Contamination

We take cross-contamination seriously—especially when it comes to allergens. That’s why:

  • We do full clean downs between making different dishes.
  • We separate our allergen-containing ingredients like gluten or flour in their own storage space.
  • And we never allow nuts in our kitchen—ever!

We Can Trace Every Bite

Each ingredient gets logged and traced through every step of its journey. That means if we ever needed to track anything – from farm to fork – we know exactly where it came from and when it was used!

Safe Until It Reaches You

Once our meals are safely packed, they travel in our freezer vans at –18°C all the way to our creche’s freezers. That’s called maintaining the cold chain, and it ensures that your food stays just as safe as when it left our kitchen.

And once it’s in your hands, we’ve got a couple of simple tips:

  • Keep your freezer at –18°C
  • Cook meals until they’re piping hot (at least 75°C)

  • Then serve it up and enjoy—knowing that every bite has been made with love and lots of attention to detail.

Happy World Food Safety Day!
