At Early Days Foods, we love recycling and finding creative ways to give everyday items a second life. And did you know- our food trays can be reused for quite literally anything. We’re excited to see your creches and after schools bring these seeds to life using our up-cycled food trays.
We want kids to ditch the iPads and technology and get back in to the garden! We were shocked when we heard this statistic- Less than 1 in 5 children play outside regularly compared to previous generations, while screen use continues to rise.
So what better way to celebrate sustainability and get your kids outside than by growing beautiful sunflowers just in time for summer?

Let’s Get Planting!
- Prepare your tray: If your food tray doesn’t have holes, poke a few small drainage holes in the bottom to prevent waterlogging.
- Add soil: Fill the tray with potting soil, leaving a little space at the top.
- Plant your seeds: Sow the sunflower seeds evenly and cover lightly with soil.
- Water gently: Keep the soil moist, but avoid overwatering.
- Place in sunlight: Sunflowers love bright light, so choose a sunny spot.
- Watch them grow: Track your sunflowers as they sprout, bloom, and bring a splash of summer!
We can’t wait to see your sunflower creations. Share your progress with us and inspire others to up-cycle, grow, and enjoy the magic of gardening!

Send us your sunflowers- we want to see all your gardening efforts, send us a DM on on of our socials!
